I’ve started playing WoW recently. I know, I know, I’m late to the game and everyone already knows about it. I first heard about WoW back when I used to use IRC, people were chatting about this WOW and I was confused. I was familiar with “:)” and “LOL,” it was before “LMAO” and “ROFL” were even around. What was this WOW and why are people so amazed by it?
You’ve got to pay? Well damn. I’ll stick to Runescape and SimCity. So I pretty much ignored it up till now. So yeah, I’m a couple days into my 11 day free trial and I’m probably going to buy the client. There’s a bundle for the game and one expansion for around ten quid, that comes with a 30 day card and so I’m sure I’ll have a more in depth opinion of it then but for now, a thought or two.

It was realised in 2004 and has a MASSIVE following, many Blizzard fans only play this game and no other game at all. It’s the biggest MMO of all time and it’s hard to imagine any other game overtaking it any time soon. The figure everyone seems to throw around is that they have 11.5 million subscribers, yet this was back in 2008. Blizzard has said they expect this to continue to increase and that they’ve still not got to their entire possible audience by far. That’s a creepy high number of players.
