If people want to download and pirate games; let them. Don’t insult their intelligence by trying to stop them and don’t be pissed about losing money when you’ll happily throw more money away on flawed DRM systems. There’s always going to be people who will want things but won’t want to pay for it and they will always find a way to achieve this.
Businesses, by spending money on trying to “solve” piracy are simply increasing the amount of money they’ve lost to it. Continuously working at a futile task, isn’t that one of the circles of hell? I don’t see why they would still continue to bother.
It’s like putting water in a cage: that stuff is going to get out there eventually. This is the true problem that video game developers are coming up against, they think they’re good at programming but if they were really were then they’d probably be on the illegal side of the fence. They’re spending a lot of time and money coming up with fancy DRM systems or by trying to destroy torrent websites through lawsuits and it’s just adding to their loss.
