A British View.So the Apple Tablet is going to be announced today, as far as everyone can tell. There’s maybe a 2% chance that Apple will just surprise everyone and just say that they’ve been fucking with us the whole time. But ignoring that, most people are fairly sure it’s the tablet.
A mixture of different information leaks, official announcements and just blatant speculation has got most people fairly excited. To be honest, I’m already trying to work out how I’ll ever be able to afford one. The general consensus is it’ll cost over £500 but under £1000, it’ll have e-book capabilities and 3G connection options. This makes me think that it may be possible to buy some form of subscription to either a newspaper or internet provider or something which will help with actually buying the equipment. I’d guess around a £200 one off fee, then however much a month. Or hope, at least.
As this site usually updates 11am, so I’m probably going to write something for Thursday outlining the actual information and what I think of them. I don’t want to simply jump on the bandwagon, tablets have been around since forever and even e-book readers have a huge choice here. I’m definitely going to weight up my options, but it’s likely this will be something worth seriously considering.
