Meet my friend Joe.

I love coffee, actually I’m a bit obsessed. If someone told me I had the chance to have a deep, meaningful relationship with Scarlett Johansson which lasted at least two months and involved a minimum of three sexual relations but the conditions involved never having coffee again: I’d choose Ms.Johansson, because I’m not insane. But that doesn’t take from the coffee lovin’. I drink, on average, around 7-12 cups a day and personally don’t care how short that makes my life expectancy.

Coffee makes me work, but not how you’d think. OK, it is true that coffee contains chemicals known to keep one both attentive and “not asleep” but that isn’t quite what I mean. If I really need to knuckle down and get something written I’ll break out a couple Red Bull’s. I’m drinking coffee all day, be it instant coffee I make myself, home brewed coffee I get other people to actually make for me, those £4 ones from Starbucks or Costa, the £3 coffees from many various independent coffee shops or the 60p ones from my college cafeteria. But linking back to the purpose of this, how does coffee keep me working?

This post could go on for PAGES, so instead over the next couple days I’m just going to list three you may not necessarily think of straight away but are nonetheless noteworthy.
